Colonel Scherry Douglas Named 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year at Foley High School


Colonel Douglas is the school’s Air Force JROTC Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI). She is a 30-year retired Air Force officer, who also has 23-years of federal law enforcement experience.

She is a distinguished graduate of the Alabama State University ROTC program. She also earned a Masters in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma.

In 2016, the U.S. Air Force officially recognized Colonel Douglas as the "Outstanding Instructor of the Year," and her great program at Foley High School was designated a "Distinguished Unit with Merit.”

Alabama JROTC is a program offered to high school students to teach them leadership, communication, wellness, citizenship, and character development.
