The National Science Foundation has awarded a grant of about $1 million to Mobile County Public Schools to fund the JROTC STEM Leadership Academy and study how it helps develop a regional workforce in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields.

“How wonderful that the National Science Foundation is investing in the youth of today and this leadership program through JROTC,” MCPSS Superintendent Martha Peek said. “I could not be prouder of everyone who has been involved in this.”
