Cadet Battalion Commander Christopher Snipes Enlists In The Army Reserves.

The Central High School NJROTC Red Devil Battalion is proud to congratulate Cadet Battalion Commander Christopher Snipes on his enlistment in the Army Reserves. Cadet Snipes used his NJROTC credential to enlist as an E-3 and he was awarded a $20,000 signing bonus.  In addition he received a $200 GI Bill kicker and will receive $50,000 to pay off his student loan while he attends college at Auburn University. Cadet Snipes enlisted for 6 years, will serve as a Technical Engineer, and ships off to boot camp July 13, 2021 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. [...]

Alabama represented well at the Alabama State “Above The Best” 3-Position Air Rifle Championships. Alabama's league took home 13 medals between Sparkman (8) and Fort Payne (5). Both teams did exceptionally well and their shooters are to be commended. The Stanhope Elmore High School JROTC Mustang Battalion placed 10th in the world out of over 1740 JROTC teams worldwide. The Sidney Lanier JROTC Program finished the year as strong as it begun, volunteering at the Montgomery Area Council on Aging (MACOA).The MACOA Meals Makers program offers a unique volunteer opportunity as they welcome businesses, civic organizations, Sunday school classes, and school groups to help them assemble the meals during weekday mornings.MACOA’s larger workspace in their newly renovated kitchen opened up an opportunity for a new volunteer program. The Lanier High School JROTC Team will be forever know as the first organization to officially kick off the MACOA Meals Makers program as they prepared meals for the elderly.  [...]

On Saturday, Dec. 15, members of the Daleville High School JROTC Warhawk Battalion took part in Wreaths Across America, honoring veterans who have passed with a wreath on their grave. The Enterprise High School JROTC Wildcat Battalion won second overall at the State of Alabama Drill Championships in Montgomery on March 9. “We’ve been dominating and they had all ends of the state (at the competition),” JROTC Instructor Sgt.
